This is a logotype I'm working on for an event. The client really wanted to having something elegant and sophisticated that would make the event materials feel more in line with the status of the event itself. I thought it would be a perfect match for Erotica. I had to manipulate some of the letterforms in increase readability since this is the first year this event will have this name. So, there isn't any recognition around it yet, but I tried to maintain the "spirit" of the font, regardless.
Originally, I had it matched up with Erotic Capitals for "of Maryville", but was requested to change it. I feel like I was able to add just the right amount of flourish to the Helvetica replacement so that it works well here.
Lastly, I really spent a lot of time playing with the flourishes to balance out the whole element. For the most part these flourishes are part of the font sent, but I did end up adding in my own connecting parts in some instances.
